Release of the Impact Analysis of Smart City Networks in Cities Local Government, by the COIT with the collaboration of A-CING

04/18/2016

The Impact Analysis of Smart City Networks in Cities´ Local Government report elaborated by the Association of Telecommunications Engineers (COIT) and the Spanish Network of Smart Cities (RECI) with the active collaboration of Aqua-Consult Ingenieros (A-CING) was published on April 13rd.

The report is the result of a research study where the impact of smart city networks on local government of cities is analyzed. Different management and coordination mechanisms are the basis for the organization of such smart city networks, exerting a strong influence, as shown in previous works, in the success of the network in achieving the common goals of its members.

RECI was taken as case study in this analysis; initially founded in 2012 with 25 members, RECI has progressively grown increasing its members to 65 Spanish cities in early 2016 (recently announced its next enlargement to 75 members during 2016). In addition to the review of the internal structure and the work carried out by the RECI to date, the study also includes a PEST analysis (Political, Economic, Social and Technological). Complementarily, the results from a consultation carried out in a set of cities within the RECI about their perception of the impact produced locally are presented.

The report is available on the COIT website following this link.
